
Welcome to my website. Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Shiva Aslanpoor. I am a doctor of physical therapy licensed with the Physical Therapy Board of California. I have 15 years of experience as a physical therapist. Throughout my career, I’ve helped numerous patients overcome back pain, build strength, and regain the confidence to exercise safely without fear of injury. I’m an expert in the most effective methods for improving back pain.
My Journey:
I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. I went to PT school there. I also have a Master‘s degree in exercise physiology.

I started my career in my home country of Iran and had my practice there. I spent several years working with professional athletes, amateur soccer players, and wrestlers. I have also worked with a variety of post-surgery cases and chronic pain conditions. I spent two years as a physical therapist in a hand rehabilitation hospital. I have done research for my thesis on preserving strength after a period of detraining on athlete and non-athlete cases and have had my work published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness (Edizioni Minerva Medica), under the title of
My ambition to improve my skills and knowledge led me to the United States. I got my doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 2021 and became a licensed DPT in California.

After four years of working in different outpatient settings, I started to feel burned out and frustrated with our health system. I realized that most of the time, patients do not receive the quality care they deserve and there are so many limitations for providing an appropriate, skillful plan of care. A personalized plan of care was rarely provided to people so the root cause of the issue never gets addressed properly. For a while, I tried to do my best with the number of sessions I had based on the patient’s insurance policy, which was heartbreaking and intolerable for me. I had come so far to do better and be more helpful to my patients. However, I found it out of reach in our insurance-based healthcare system. To help more people and be the true version of myself, I decided to start my online platform. Here I can reach more people, care for them, and guide them out of their pain to feel stronger and have a better feeling about their bodies.
My Approach:
In my virtual platform, I am offering one-on-one sessions. I get to work with more people all around the world. I am focused on assisting active adults with chronic back/hip pain who have felt overlooked in conventional insurance-based physical therapy settings. This is not a traditional PT service. My goal is to help this particular group become more health conscious and have access to proper tools to improve their overall well-being so they can take care of their body more efficiently, get rid of pain flare-ups, and be able to continue working out without the fear of injury. I would like to approach the issue more integratively and look at the body as a whole. I believe that by improving breathing patterns, posture, and gait, and addressing the root cause of the issue, we can have a better and healthier body.
My Personal Life
I am happily married, and our world revolves around our two adorable Pomeranians. I love traveling with my husband and I like doing activities during vacations like zip lining, canoeing, and parasailing. When I am home I would like to spend time with my babies and my husband. We often go biking and hiking.
